Hi, I’m Dr. Cheryl Woodson.

Hello, I’m Dr. Cheryl Woodson.

My passion is advocating for older adults and their caregivers, while challenging women to LIVE OUT LOUD and AGE EXCELLENTLY!

Like many other women, I juggle multiple roles and strive to only drop the rubber balls.

I’m a wife, mother, doctor, businesswoman, educator, and author. I’m proud to hold a 2nd degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and am experienced in caring for a family member with Alzheimer’s disease. The New York Times has called me “a frank and funny woman,” and I’m honored to be known as an entertaining, informative, and inspiring speaker.

I've spent almost 40 years teaching and practicing Geriatric Medicine.

I did this while also raising a family and caring for my parent with dementia. My board certifications in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and Health Care Quality Management allowed me to serve on the medical faculty at The University of Chicago and Northwestern University. After directing my own private practice and working in managed care administration, I’ve also served on eldercare and educational policy committees for national academic, government, and not-for-profit organizations. Currently, I am a board member of the National Council on Aging.

As an author, I publish books that support family caregivers and encourage women to prioritize self-care.

My book, To Survive Caregiving, recently won 1st Place in the 2022 Writer’s Digest Best Self-Published Books- Nonfiction-Inspirational/Self-Help Category out of 1192 submissions.

I also write contemporary romance novels under the pseudonym Teria Robens, featuring heroines who are grown women.

Although I'm technically "retired," I continue to write, speak, and do consultations.

My passion is advocating for older adults and their caregivers, while challenging women to LIVE OUT LOUD and AGE EXCELLENTLY!
